Who runs BAS

As a registered charity, Bradford Autism Support is managed by a committee.  This consists of a group of people from many different backgrounds, all of whom are interested in helping to support both those with Autism and their families.  The Committee meets once a month to discuss how Bradford Autism Support can be developed further, and also to review any issues that may occur.  Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) usually falls in July, and all users of Bradford Autism Support are invited to attend the meeting at which we approve the annual budget, state our aims for the next year.  During the meeting we also appoint new committee members, and elect committee members to the senior committee positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

On a daily basis Bradford Autism Support is run by David Riley, our Centre Manager, who is assisted by our Community Information Link Worker, Nikki Baptie.  Helen Copley is our Youth Worker and is in charge of social skills activities for the children.  There are also a number of other workers that regularly help out at some of the activities that we run, including our Summer and Easter Holiday Schemes.  As well as our staff, there are many dedicated volunteers that make a lot of the activities happen.  Without their help much of what we do would not be possible.  If you would like to volunteer to help out with any of the support groups, become a member of the committee or even just help around the centre please contact David or Nikki at the centre.
